D.C. Act 25-660. Bruce Monroe Extension of Disposition Authority Amendment Act of 2024.
AN ACT
To amend An Act Authorizing the sale of certain real estate in the District of Columbia no longer required for public purposes to extend the time limit for the disposition of certain District-owned real property located at 3012 Georgia Avenue, NW, known for tax and assessment purposes as Lot 0849 in Square 2890, comprising a portion of the site of the former Bruce Monroe School.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this act may be cited as the "Bruce Monroe Extension of Disposition Authority Amendment Act of 2024".
Sec. 2. Section 1(d-8) of An Act Authorizing the sale of certain real estate in the District of Columbia no longer required for public purposes, approved August 5, 1939 (53 Stat. 1211; D.C. Official Code § 10-801(d-8), is amended by striking the phrase "is extended to December 20, 2023." and inserting the phrase "and as further extended by the Bruce Monroe Extension of Disposition Authority Amendment Act of 2020, effective March 16, 2021 (D.C. Law 23-248; D.C. Official Code § 10-801(d-8)), including specified site use requirements for a park or other public uses, is extended to December 20, 2026." in its place.
Sec. 3. Applicability.
This act shall apply as of December 20, 2023.
Sec. 4. Fiscal impact statement.
The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement in the committee report as the fiscal impact statement required by section 4a of the General Legislative Procedures Act of 1975, approved October 16, 2006 (120 Stat. 2038; D.C. Official Code § 1-301.47a).
Sec. 5. Effective date.
This act shall take effect following approval by the Mayor (or in the event of veto by the Mayor, action by the Council to override the veto) and a 30-day period of congressional review as provided in section 602(c)(1) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, approved December 24, 1973 (87 Stat. 813; D.C. Official Code § 1-206.02(c)(1)).
